The goal of the site is to provide useful tips, tricks, resources, for aspiring GMs and Players of TTRPGs. I want to show off the independent RPG space and all the game systems I read or fall in love with. I’ll also post my own opinions and reviews of the TTRPGs and other games I play.
If that’s not enough, it’s also where I’ll post my personal projects, and recent obsessions. This could be anything and everything from my own world building to TTRPG homebrew to full video game devlogs. I also am an avid fantasy fan (wow big surprise) and may even give you a glimpse into that.
Truly this is a project for myself, but I hope you can find as much enjoyment in reading these articles as I do in writing them.
Who are you?
I am a self described queer black nerd. I’ve been an avid video game connoisseur for well over 30 years. I played D&D in college, but didn’t rediscover my love for the hobby till Dimension 20 caused my wife to suggest that we play one day. In the last 5 years, I’ve run many tables, systems, and stories. I’ve even managed to be a player once or twice. I tend to learn through writing, so I’ve written a ton about everything I’ve played, and you will get to enjoy the fruits of those labors.
So come and stick around to read my tips on TTRPGs from someone who prefers the narrative over the mechanics (but still loves a little crunch).
What’s in a name?
The Witch’s Wandering Table is so named as witches are my favorite archetype to play, and I occupy that stereotype of the tarot card reading lesbian. I am in no way associated with the modern religious witches, but respect them deeply and will try to not offend.
Why is my table wandering? Well my table (that is the games I run) rarely stays in one place. My table wanders across many systems, worlds and genres. I’ve played everything from your classic D&D superheoric fantasy, your gritty low fantasy, detective urban fantasy, epic space operatic adventures, and cyberpunk mutants fighting against the corporations and the multiverse. From my breadth of experience I hope you all find something useful…. or at least amusing!
Schedule
Posts will go up when I feel like it. While I have a massive backlog of articles, editing them and ensuring proper sourcing takes time and effort. Plus, I have my own tables and projects to run. My goal is to post no less than monthly, but I don’t hold myself to that. I reserve the right to edit articles after they go up.
Any linked material is fan made, purely to help either enhance the game, or provide additional resources. Feel free to use in your game, but if you post it to your site, please credit both me and the original author(s).
